If you like shopping, you will absolutely love Charleston Market Street!
Charleston Shopping
Charleston Market Street shopping centers around the Old City Market, which was built in 1841 on land that had earlier been donated to Charleston by Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Market Hall, which is the main building, is an impressive Greek-style temple. Stroll by the Market Hall to admire the façade of the extraordinary main building and spend time shopping among more than 100 vendors offering everything from local souvenirs and gourmet foods to clothing. The Market reaches from East Bay Street to Meeting Street.
